  • Abstract:

Article describes conditions of two bridges, one constructed of normalweight concrete and the other of one part normalweight concrete and another part lightweight aggregate concrete. The normalweight concrete portions of the Lane Bridge Deck were replaced after 21 years. Significant problems were apparent at the Wilson Bridge after 15 years. The lightweight concrete on the Lane Bridge was still in service in 1983 after 31 years.
