The studies consist of two series of experiments. In the first, we intended to observe the grade of the durability of pumice concrete and the effect of air-entraining agent on the durability of pumice and ordinary concretes. In the second series we studied the following problems:1. The pumice concrete in water saturated state shows weak resistance to frost action. On the other hand, when the water content is lowered below saturation point, the resistance to frost action may be improved.
2. From various fundamental properties of the aggregate, we may deduce some effective factors of the resistance to the frost action.
