  • Abstract:

Increasing mason productivity needn’t always mean working harder and faster. Larger masonry units can improve productivity on the job and reduce costs. As the size of the masonry unit increases, the number of units needed to build a given wall area decreases. Longer units mean fewer brick or block per course. Higher units mean fewer courses to reach a given wall height. larger units also reduce the number of joints required, thus saving on mortar costs and joint tooling.
