Properties of structural lightweight- aggregate concrete are treated, including a discussion of the proportioning and control of concrete mixtures containing lightweight aggregate, some of the physical characteristics of plain concrete, as well as certain structural properties of reinforced lightweight concrete with comments on their relation to the design of structural elements. This is an attempt to gather together all of the related data available, both published and unpublished, and present this information as a guide in the use of lightweight aggregates for structural concrete.
