  • Abstract:

This report examines the prospects of using the residual byproducts of iron and steel manufacture (blast furnace slag) and electric utility operations (fly ash) to an increasing extent in order to reduce the amount of portland cement required to produce an equivalent amount of concrete. This would reduce the overall energy required to produce that concrete.
