Results of short time tests on eight lightweight concrete columns are reported. As essential test parameters were varied: type of lightweight aggregate, amount of longitudinal reinforcement, and load-eccentricity. On the basis of test results a number of analytical expressions assumed for the stress distribution in the compression zone of the cross-sections were checked by means of comparison compression zone of the cross-sections were checked by means of comparison calculations with respect to applicability for the computation of deflections as well as stability of lightweight concrete compression members. A bilinear stress-strain diagram was found to be a sound assumption for computations of this kind. In German.
