  Tests were carried out on 45 sintered fly ash lightweight concrete deep beams to provide supplementary information to that in a previous ACI paper. Different types and amounts of web reinforcement were used. An attempt was made to isolate the effects of the span-depth ratio L/D and of the clear-shear-span to depth ratio x/D on crack control, on diagonal cracking loads, and on ultimate shear loads. Measured cracking and ultimate loads were compared with those computed from various formulas, including those of ACI 318-71 and the draft British Unified Code.
