  • Abstract:

The eigenfrequencies and the damping determine the dynamic behavior of a structure. Crack formation can reduce the eigenfrequencies of a partially prestressed structure. The damping of this type of construction is considerably larger than the one of a fully prestressed structure. Due to the cracking, friction damping is activated around the surface of the nonprestressed reinforcement. For a small degree of prestress at rest and a small dynamic load the most favorable damping behavior of partially prestressed structures exists after the crack formation has been completed. In German.
