  • Abstract:

In order to assess the compression behavior of Legupren lightweight concrete that has proved itself for 20 years in a wide variety of applications, the authors have developed special facilities which permit testing UP rigid-foam lightweight concrete (600 multiplied by 150 multiplied by 150 mm/SUP/3) under conditions close to those of actual practice. Having three repeatedly measured creep strength curves available, it is possible to calculate and plot isochronous strength compression curves. The approximation of the experimental results obtained within 100-1000 hours, that is, within about 6 weeks, ensures a reliable 7 years’ extrapolation. This means that also a 30 or 50 years’ extrapolation, deduced from the course the creep curves take over a period of approximately 7 years, will allow realistic values to be obtained.
