  The paper is equally divided between some comments on reinforced concrete and structural steel studies being conducted at Berkeley concerning seismic problems. Light and normal weight reinforced concrete beam-column subassemblages for interior joints, new bond tests, bracing of steel building frames and offshore towers, as well as some new developments on the design of eccentric bracing, are among the topics considered.
